Master of Education (M.ED) is a 2-year Post graduate degree programmeaffiliated to ChaudharyCharan Singh University, Meerut& recognized by NCTE, Delhi which can be pursued after completing B.Ed with 55% marks from a NCTE recognized University/Institution. Admission to the M.Ed. programme is made through entrance test conducted by ChaudharyCharansinghUniversity,Meerut.
M.Ed. is a professional programme and focuses on comprehensive and integrated professional development of teachers and other personnel engaged in educational management and administration.
M.Ed is aimed at developing competency and skills prepare teachers for diverse situations& challenges presented. It is intended to address professional areas of concern, knowledge, skills and attitudes relating to How to Teach and How to Facilitate Learning. Also to include the role of teachers in changing global socio-economic concerns, organization of teacher education in the country, understanding teaching in a comparative perspective, meeting the requirements of ‘Education for All’, and ‘Training for All’.
The M.Ed.programme focuses on: Develop knowledge and understanding of management, planning and financing of education; as also develop managerial and administrative capabilities and skills to effectively manage educational institutions
Develop knowledge and understanding of the process of educational research and aptitude for and skill in conducting research in specialized areas of education and thus generate knowledge or critically evaluate existing knowledge
Generate awareness and understanding of some specialized areas of education and human development like special needs of education, curriculum development, environmental education, vocational education, teacher education, elementary education, measurement and evaluation so as to widen the horizon of understanding of modern educational practices and to develop critical thinking pertaining to issues related to education.
The B.Ed.programme focuses on:
Developing an understanding of context of education in contemporary Indian Society,
Developing an understanding of paradigm shift in conceptualizing disciplinary knowledge in school curriculum,
Identifying, challenging and overcoming gender inequalities in school, classroom,curricula, textbook, social institutions, Creating sensitivity about language diversity.
Enabling student-teachers to acquire necessary competencies for organizing learning experiences, select and use appropriate assessment strategies for facilitating learning,
Enabling student-teachers to integrate and apply ICT in facilitating teaching-learning process and in school management,
Providing first-hand experience of all the school activities through engaging student-teachers as interns in secondary/senior secondary schools.
